Trader Joe's Is Coming, No, Really NAPLES, Sept. 8 — The rumors have turned into fact: Trader Joe’s is coming to Naples.
Alison Mochizuki, a spokeswoman for the trendy grocery store, said the chain, with a cult-like following, will open soon at a former Borders bookstore at 10600 U.S. 41 North, in Granada Shoppes south of Immokalee Road.
Trader Joe’s, based in Monrovia, CA, carries the basics and exotic foods. Most of the store’s groceries are sold under the Trader Joe’s name. Some notable items: a roasted-seaweed snack, truffle mousse paté made and a mandarin-orange chicken dinner. To wash it all down: a $2 Charles Shaw wine. [more]
Naples Botanical Garden is holding a free clinic each Thursday in September with a representative of the Collier County Master Gardener Program. The garden is located at 4820 Bayshore Drive in East Naples.
Master Gardeners have been through a 75-hour course that includes basic botany, soils, fertilizers, entomology, citrus, turf grasses, ornamental plants, diseases, and other related topics. The course is designed by the Collier County Extension and the University of Florida.
The Master Gardeners are holding the SW Florida Yard and Garden Show on Oct. 29 and Oct. 30.It will be held at the Collier County University Extension Office, 14700 Immokalee Road, which is 10 miles East of I-75.
